Apadana is a collection of autobiographical poems within the Khuddaka Nikaya of the Pali Canon. It features elder monks and nuns who attained liberation during the time of Gotama Buddha. These narratives recount their encounters with numerous past buddhas and reflect on actions that guided them toward or hindered their liberation. Three of the stories are told by Gotama Buddha himself. This edition is divided into two volumes; Volume I contains the stories told by Gotama Buddha and the first part of the elder monks' accounts.
