This work focuses on two pivotal classes of Russian society: the nobility and the intelligentsia, which the author identifies as the foundation of the Russian elite before the revolution. The book examines their role in the two major catastrophes of the 20th century: the October Revolution of 1917 and the events of 1991–1993. The author challenges conventional accusations against the elite, advocating for a re-evaluation of their historical culpability. This study serves as an apology, aiming to combat anti-nobility and anti-intelligentsia sentiments.
