This book presents U-boat situations and trends compiled by the Admiralty's Operational Intelligence Centre during World War II. Largely informed by communications intelligence, these reports aimed to update senior officers and officials on the Allied campaign against U-boats. The Battle of the Atlantic, the longest and most complex naval engagement in history, saw U-boats sink 2,828 Allied merchant ships, while Allied forces destroyed over 780 German U-boats. These documents detail, on a weekly and sometimes daily basis, Allied knowledge of U-boat activities throughout the conflict.
