This collection features works by Olga Bergholz dedicated to the tragic pages of the Great Patriotic War – the Siege of Leningrad. The legendary lines "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten!" are inscribed on the memorial wall of the Piskarevskoye Cemetery. Olga Bergholz remained in Leningrad for all 872 days of the blockade, her voice broadcasting hope over the radio. She became known as the muse of besieged Leningrad, capturing the horrors of those days in her poetry and prose.
