The Case Study House program, active from 1945 to 1966, was a significant and unique initiative in American architectural history. Focused primarily in the Los Angeles area, the program resulted in the design of 36 prototype homes. Its aim was to provide accessible and affordable plans for modern residences during the post-war construction boom. Spearheaded by John Entenza, editor of Arts & Architecture, the program attracted leading architectural talents and produced experimental houses that redefined modern living.
