This comic delves into the story of Darth Vader immediately following the events of "Revenge of the Sith." The Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker is gone, replaced by the formidable Dark Lord of the Sith. His sole purpose is to serve Emperor Palpatine and extend his dominion across the galaxy. Vader hunts down surviving Jedi, seeks a new lightsaber, and confronts resistance on various worlds. The Emperor tasks him with leading the Inquisitorius, and on the lava planet Mustafar, Vader constructs a castle, perhaps in hopes of resurrecting his beloved.
