This book explores a little-known period in the life of the last Russian Emperor, Nicholas II Alexandrovich β his early childhood years from 1876 to 1879. The narrative also covers the story of the Emperor's first teacher and his first companion, Volodya Ollongren. As a child, Ollongren lived and was raised in the Anichkov Palace alongside the young Grand Duke Nicholas. His impressions of this time stayed with him throughout his life, which he spent in emigration. The author of the book met Ollongren in France, where he gathered material for this publication.
