Молодой пилот Пётр Хрумов оказывается в центре заговора, направленного на изменение условий в Конклаве. Расстановка сил не в пользу землян. Upon venturing into space, humanity makes contact with the Conclave, an alliance of intelligent beings at various developmental stages. The Conclave's stronger races assign minor tasks to the weaker ones, a role initially given to Earthlings. Young pilot Pyotr Khrumov becomes inadvertently involved in a conspiracy aiming to revise the terms of interaction within the Conclave. The balance of power is not in humanity's favor. The unique ability to travel between worlds, known as 'Jump', is Earth's sole advantage over alien species.
