This study analyzes the activities of the Franciscan Order (Ordo Fratrum Minorum) within the Kingdom of France during the 13th century. It examines the stages of the Order's transformation from an uninstitutionalized apostolic movement into a medieval scholarly corporation. The research clarifies how integration into ecclesiastical and royal structures, as well as the University of Paris, shaped the community's internal history and its portrayal through the lives of its founder, St. Francis of Assisi.
