Многие её события, подвиги и трагедии, такие как героическая оборона Сарыкамыша или геноцид армян и русин, ныне забыты. Разработчики виртуальной реальности решили создать игру, посвящённую Первой мировой войне, и Роман Самсонов вновь становится бета-тестером. Однако неизвестный вирус прерывает связь с капсулой, оставляя его один на один с необходимостью выживать в ожесточённых боях декабря 1914 года на Кавказском фронте.

Before the Great Patriotic War, Russia's 20th-century history included another "Patriotic" war, the second of its kind. It began in August 1914 with the attack by Kaiser Germany and Austria-Hungary on the Russian Empire. Its history, its feats, and its tragedies are largely forgotten—for example, the heroic defense of Sarikamish, the heavy fighting of the Gorlice–Tarnów Offensive, and the genocide of Armenians and Rusyns. Virtual reality developers decided to create a game about World War I, and Roman Samsonov once again becomes the beta tester. However, an unknown virus immediately severs his connection to the capsule, forcing him to survive in the brutal battles of December 1914 on the Caucasian Front.
