The author uses absurd imagery to accurately describe contemporary reality, creating a new language for a new era. Stories feature characters like a blogger who photographs garbage and a boy with an eye that foresees the future. Kanabeyev's prose combines the rigor of an absurd style with excessive imagery and fantasy, reminiscent of early Victor Pelevin and Clive Barker.
