Long before the era of space exploration, humanity abandoned the development of true machine intelligence on Earth, opting for simple simulations sufficient for practical tasks. Centuries later, on the distant planet Shatrang, the question of creating genuine machine intelligence arises anew. Colonial base commander Colonel Smirnov sees the development of AI capable of using the phenomenon of "temporal intuition" as the only chance to resolve a technological crisis. However, a catastrophe occurs: the best test pilot, Darmina Denis Abramtsev, crashes and dies during a flight to a mountain research station. The accident appears inexplicable and casts doubt on the future of the project.
