Darkness descends upon Dominicus Prim as the Season of Night brings omens, madness, and strange occurrences. The Monastery of the Last Candle stands as a beacon of the Emperor's light amidst the gloom. As bishops and cardinals vie for power, the plight of starving pilgrims becomes critical, fueling unrest and rumors of a growing cult associated with bloodshed and horror. Into this powder keg of intrigue descends Inquisitor Covenant and his retinue. Guided by a prophetic tarot reading of the Emperor, they arrive on the ecclesiastic world to hunt agents of the Triumvirate – a sect of Khorosians also seeking dominion. Covenant believes these radicals are searching for the Incarnation: a true divine vessel, a living saint. He can only guess at their ultimate goal but knows it bodes no good. The Inquisitor must stop the Khorosians at any cost, as his actions may determine the fate of the entire sector.
