Весна 1945 года. Майор Валерий Волошин и капитан Алексей Комов, демобилизовавшись из армии, начинают службу в МУРе. Город наполнен вернувшимися с фронта, многие из которых умеют убивать, а трофейное оружие стало доступным. Сыщики успешно ликвидируют банду, совершавшую ограбления и теракты. Выясняется, что главарь банды, бывший гауптман СС, скрывается в Литве и продолжает руководить сообщниками. Spring 1945. Demobilized from the army, Major Valeriy Voloshin and Captain Alexey Komov join the MUR (Moscow Criminal Investigation Department). The city is tense with returning soldiers, many trained to kill, and an abundance of captured weapons. The investigators manage to dismantle a gang responsible for robbing savings banks, armored cars, and carrying out acts of terror and sabotage. It is discovered that the gang leader, a former SS Hauptmann, is hiding in Lithuania, directing his accomplices nationwide. As the detectives begin their pursuit, they are unaware of larger forces operating behind this criminal network.
