Set in Argentina in 1976, the story unfolds against the backdrop of a military junta's brutal war against its own people, marked by mass arrests, torture, and disappearances. Kadish Poznan, a Jew, finds a peculiar way to alter reality: by night, he erases the names of unworthy ancestors from gravestones, preventing them from shaming the Jewish community. His world is shattered when his own son vanishes without a trace. In their desperation, the parents turn to the Ministry of Special Affairs, a place where those who have lost hope of finding their missing relatives wander through Kafkaesque corridors of power.
