Harmony Hale, a skilled conwoman, arrives in Brookville, California, with a plan for revenge against the mayor who wronged her father. Her scheme involves selling a nonexistent music festival, requiring the cooperation of the local librarian. Preston Jones, an autistic librarian and piano teacher, is dedicated to his job and caring for his sister. He views Harmony as nothing but trouble, seeing things in black and white. However, Harmony's promise to help him save his library programs makes Preston question his initial judgment. Their connection deepens amidst the library stacks, forcing Harmony to choose between her quest for revenge and a potential happy ending.
