Peter M. Cook, 2019
British architectural photographer Peter M. Cook has dedicated two decades to documenting the evolving urban landscape of Tokyo. This photobook presents a selection of 100 images, capturing the city's architectural transformation since Cook first visited in 1992 and settled there in 1998. The work draws inspiration from Hiroshige's "100 Views of Edo," featuring Mount Fuji as a natural constant against the dynamic cityscape. Cook's abstract aesthetic also evokes the futuristic vision of the 1927 silent film "Metropolis." The volume includes a haiku by architect Kengo Kuma.
