Among them are Lyuk, who arrived from Germany; Mariyka, who was deported; Friedrich and Roza, ethnic Germans from Ukraine; and our contemporary, Johanna. Each narrative unfolds a personal and collective tragedy within its specific historical context. Carefully collected by the author and unified by the motif of the melting boat, these tales evolve into a poignant and profound reflection on the enduring human experience of loss and the search for home.
