Evgenia Pankrashina, the wife of a wealthy businessman, is murdered on the staircase of a Moscow apartment building. According to her relatives, she was carrying an expensive necklace, but it was not found at the crime scene. At first glance, it appears to be a simple robbery gone wrong. However, as investigators Anton Stashis and Roman Dzyuba gather more information about the victim's life, the case becomes increasingly mysterious and strange. The situation is further complicated by the death of someone close to them, continuing a series of unexplained murders.
