Книга посвящена памяти Анатолия Николаевича Михеева — 30‑летнего руководителя советской военной контрразведки и комиссара госбезопасности 3‑го ранга, который в сентябре 1941 года добровольно оставил высокую должность и пошёл на фронт. В качестве начальника особого отдела Юго‑Западного фронта он участвовал в скрытых сражениях с агентурой Абвера на Украине и в ожесточённых боях при отступлении Красной армии в первые месяцы войны. В тексте также раскрыты ошибки, заблуждения и преступления властей в подготовке к войне, на фоне массового героизма солдат невидимого фронта и воинов РККА после 22 июня 1941 года. The book commemorates the heroic sacrifice of Anatoly Nikolaevich Mikheev, a 30‑year‑old senior officer of Soviet military counter‑intelligence and a State Security commissioner of the third rank, who voluntarily left a high‑ranking post to fight on the front in September 1941. As chief of a special department on the Southwestern Front, Mikheev engaged in covert battles against the Abwehr network in Ukraine and participated in the fierce fighting that accompanied the Red Army’s retreat during the early months of the war. The narrative also exposes the mistakes, misconceptions and crimes of the authorities in the pre‑war preparation, set against the backdrop of mass heroism among the invisible front’s soldiers and Red Army troops after June 22, 1941. Written for a broad readership, the work aims to foster patriotic values in today’s youth.
