Vladimir Vladislavovich Glebkin, 2014, Series: Humanitas
This monograph examines the fundamental paradigms that shaped linguistics in the latter half of the 20th and early 21st centuries: isolationist, anthropocentric, and sociocultural. It analyzes their philosophical and psychological underpinnings. The potential of the sociocultural paradigm is illustrated through an investigation into the history of the mechanism metaphor, the cognitive and cultural-historical foundations of metonymy, and the concept of "cultural crisis." A significant outcome of the work is the "sociocultural theory of lexical complexes," applied here to describe the complexes "open," "stone," and "intelligentsia."
