This edition features a commented translation of three Middle Persian religious texts. It includes the Fifth Book of the Denkard, a compendium of knowledge about the state religion of pre-Islamic Iran. A fragment from the Fourth Book of the Denkard, detailing the history of preserving Zoroastrian liturgical books under the patronage of Iranian kings, is also presented. The third text is the "Book of Righteous Viraf," originating from the Sasanian era.
