This publication commemorates significant dates: the 670th anniversary of the birth of Saint Dmitry Donskoy and the 640th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo. The book includes "The Tale of the Life and Passing of Prince Dmitry Ivanovich" from the late 14th-early 15th century, and the first poetic translation of "Zadonschina." It also features historical research by authors from the 18th-20th centuries, such as V.N. Tatishchev and N.I. Troitsky. The collection is supplemented with poems by 19th-century poets and a modern dramatic poem by E.V. Lukin, "The Invincible Voivode," based on the legend of the Don Icon of the Mother of God.
