This volume presents a full edition and the first English translation of documents detailing the interrogation of sixteen women in Swidnica in September 1332. These women, known as the Hooded Sisters or Daughters of Odelindis, were part of a local beguine community. The records, preserved as a notarial instrument and now housed in the Vatican Library, offer unique insights into the lives and spiritual practices of these lay women. They sought to adopt the ideals of the vita apostolica, embracing strict poverty and austere ascetic practices, including flagellation and dietary regimes, to achieve spiritual perfection and mystical union with God.
