An assault on the capital of Byzantium is a daring and mad endeavor. The walls of Constantinople are impervious to sieges, and the Bosphorus has been closed to enemy fleets since the advent of fire-bearing dromons. Yet, Oleg the Wise led nearly a thousand ships to Tsargrad, besieging the greatest city of the Middle Ages. However, a siege does not guarantee victory, and entering the strait may prove easier than exiting it. In the upcoming great battles, the Varangian prince Vartislav, known as the Daring, fights alongside Oleg the Wise, sometimes even ahead of him.
