During World War II, George Madoc captained an RAF Air-Sea Rescue boat, tasked with transporting secret agents between the English coast and occupied France. A clandestine operation in April 1944 to extract a French agent ended disastrously. Upon his return home two months later, George was rendered unable to speak about the events that transpired. His son, Iain, receives a clue that might help unravel the mystery of what so deeply traumatized his father, causing him to withdraw from his own son. The discovery of his father's boat wreck near the Breton village of St. Cyriac offers a potential key to unlocking George Madoc's suppressed memories. Driven by a desperate need to understand, Iain travels to St. Cyriac, determined to uncover the truth. However, the village guards its secrets closely, and the past remains a dangerous reality for some, potentially putting Iain's own family at risk.
