Seeking an escape from London, young Englishwoman Leah answers an advertisement from famous writer Michael Young. He tasks her with transcribing his diaries and invites her to spend the summer with his family in the South of France. By the sea, Leah embraces newfound freedom, but as she delves into Young's recollections of his turbulent youth in 1960s Soho, the lines between past and present, truth and deception, begin to blur. A persistent question lingers: why did Michael Young choose her for this task?
