This historical fiction debut draws inspiration from real figures to tell the story of two princesses from Montenegro who married into the Romanov court. Militza and Stana, daughters of an impoverished king, sought to secure their homeland's future through advantageous marriages. Upon arriving in St. Petersburg, they faced ostracism from the aristocracy due to their provincial ways and interest in the occult. Undeterred, the sisters aimed to make their mark within the court.
