В предгорьях Урала появляется волхв Белогост, хранитель капища Белбога. Он мечтает о месте, где все верования смогут сосуществовать мирно, но для этого ему нужна поддержка князя. В это время в княжеском городе зреют планы по искоренению язычества. Древнее капище и село Коломны, жители которого изгнали священников, становятся препятствием для князя. Однако он не спешит с наказанием, так как его покойная жена, мать наследника Любояра, была родом из Коломен. Белогост и его ученик Гор вынуждены защищать священное капище от нападений варягов и греков.

In the foothills of the Urals, a magus named Belogost, guardian of the sanctuary of Belbog, arrives. He dreams of a temple where all earthly beliefs can coexist peacefully, but to achieve this, he requires the prince's support. Meanwhile, plans to eradicate heresy and paganism are being hatched in the prince's town. The ancient sanctuary and the village of Kolomna, whose inhabitants have driven out priests, have become a thorn in the ruler's side. However, the prince hesitates to punish the Kolomna residents, as his late wife, who left him an heir named Luboyar, was herself from Kolomna. Belogost and his young disciple Gor, through battles and wanderings, must save the sacred sanctuary from Varangians and incoming Greeks.
