Ilya Kochergin, born in Moscow in 1970, has a diverse background, including studies at the Institute of Asian and African Studies and the Gorky Literary Institute, and work as a forester in the Altai Nature Reserve. His new book describes the decision to leave with a loved one for a remote location, build a house with one's own hands, and take in an old horse for its remaining years. Against the backdrop of changing seasons, epidemics, and the passing year 2022, the rescued horse Fenya gradually becomes the center of their world, helping them find that very emergency exit.
