On Christmas Eve, the woodcutter's children, Tyltyl and Mytyl, are tasked by the fairy Berylune to find the Blue Bird to save her sick granddaughter. A magical diamond allows them to see the true nature of things, leading them on an extraordinary journey. Their companions include talking pets and personified elements like Fire and Water. The quest takes them through lands of Memory, the Palace of Night, and other enchanted realms as they face challenges and risks.
